King Zero
Rich is at the Podcast Room talking to the multi-talented Charlie Higson about his new James Bond novel, King Zero. They talk about how this is Richard's first Bond book and how his expectations were confounded, how Higson is so knowledgeable about the deserts of Saudi Arabie, whether Bond is now woke and the difficulties of placing him in a different era, whilst still acknowledging his past, why Charlie wanted to resurrect the Sado-masochism of the original novels and was able to indulge some horrible thoughts in the mouths of his more despicable characters. Is he worried that he's come up with a plot that will destroy the world? Plus a brief side bar about his work on the Fighting Fantasy franchise.
